💨 Abstract

The 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony, held in London, honored South African footballer Jayden Adams, who tragically took his own life earlier in the year. The event, marking its 70th anniversary and first time outside France, also recognized Sir Stanley Matthews. Winners included Harry Kane (Men’s Ballon d’Or), Alexia Putellas (Women’s Ballon d’Or), and Lamine Yamal (Men’s Kopa Trophy).
