💨 Abstract

In the 2026 Budget Speech, all South African social grants except the Covid-19 SRD grant will increase. The SRD grant remains at R370 per month, with an additional R36.4 billion allocated to extend payments until March 2027. The overall Social Development budget is projected to grow by 4.2% from 2025/26 to 2028/29.
