Stargazing in South Africa offers significant mental health benefits, particularly during the stressful festive season. Research by Stellenbosch University's CoCREATE Health Hub shows that structured stargazing can reduce anxiety and improve emotional clarity. The night sky promotes mindfulness and shifts attention away from daily stressors, fostering a sense of awe and connection. Participants in guided stargazing sessions reported reduced anxiety and improved mood within 24 hours.
