These scams occur via Facebook Live streams and WhatsApp groups, where victims are tricked into paying fees. Legitimate lotteries never require winners to pay money upfront. If you encounter such a message, do not send money or share personal information. Report any incidents to the South African Police Service and the National Cybersecurity Hub.
