💨 Abstract

A Western Cape film, "Old Righteous Blues" by Muneera Sallies, has been chosen as South Africa's entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 97th Academy Awards. The film, which centers around a young man's quest to unite a fractured community by restoring a Christmas choir band, has already won 11 awards at various film festivals.
