💨 Abstract
Over the past 10 days, the City of Cape Town reported over 230 accidents, including 162 motor vehicle accidents and 74 pedestrian-related incidents, due to wet weather conditions between June 27 and July 6. The City emphasized the importance of heightened vigilance during such weather. Safety officials advised drivers to adjust their behavior to account for poor conditions, citing the emotional and financial strain, as well as traffic delays, caused by accidents.
