💨 Abstract
Zimbabwe has confirmed that 15 of its citizens died after being fraudulently recruited into the Russia-Ukraine war. Authorities are working to repatriate 66 survivors. Recruiters, posing as employment agencies, lured victims through social media with promises of lucrative jobs. Upon arrival in Russia, recruits' documents were confiscated, and they were forced into combat with minimal training. The recruiters disappear when issues arise, leaving families without support.
