Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, a controversial businessman, was denied bail in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on September 17. He faces charges including murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and money laundering. The state argued he is a flight risk, citing his alleged use of fake identity documents to travel to eSwatini.
