💨 Abstract
The Democratic Alliance (DA) has accused President Cyril Ramaphosa of misleading the public about Mcebisi Jonas's role as South Africa’s special envoy to the U.S. The DA claims that the U.S. rejected Jonas's diplomatic visa and credentials in May and that Ramaphosa knew but continued to publicly support Jonas. The DA urges Ramaphosa to appoint a recognized envoy to prevent potential trade losses and will seek official records of Jonas's activities. The presidency has dismissed the allegations.
