💨 Abstract

The EU and U.S. finalized a trade deal on July 28, 2025, imposing a 15% tariff on most EU exports to the U.S., raising concerns over economic impacts. This tariff aims to prevent a steeper 30% tariff and stabilize transatlantic trade relations amid geopolitical tensions. The European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen described the deal as a compromise.
