💨 Abstract
A former Gauteng attorney, Pretus Thobejane, has been charged with stealing R8.3 million from property buyers. Between November 2024 and October 2025, Thobejane allegedly took funds for conveyancing services but failed to deliver them, becoming unreachable and not refunding the money. Clients complained to the Legal Practice Council, leading to his arrest. The case was postponed to November 24 for a bail application.
