💨 Abstract

A Gauteng woman, Ntombifuthi Mavis Rumo, staged her own kidnapping to demand a R40,000 ransom from her family. The plot involved two accomplices and was uncovered when the family couldn't pay. Rumo and one accomplice, Bonginkosi Mndebele, were arrested and face charges of defeating the administration of justice. The case was postponed to October 29 for further investigations.
