💨 Abstract
In May 2026, South African motorists will face another significant fuel price hike, surpassing April's record increases. The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy confirmed substantial rises due to global oil price volatility and a weaker rand. Petrol increased by around R3.06 per litre, while diesel saw jumps of R7.37 to R7.51 per litre.
