💨 Abstract

An illegal miner, part of a group of 33 arrested after a standoff at an abandoned gold mine in Stilfontein, has died in hospital from gastroenteritis and dehydration, raising the death toll to 88 since August. The remaining 32 miners are under police guard while receiving medical treatment.
