💨 Abstract

Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi defended the R140 million cost of the Madlanga Commission investigating police corruption, citing witness safety risks and thorough investigation needs. The National Treasury supports the funding. Starting in September 2025, the inquiry will address alleged corruption and political interference in the South African Police Service, following high-profile suspensions. Despite prior delays, the Commission is expected to be closely monitored.
