💨 Abstract
On August 5, 2025, Meta deleted 6.8 million WhatsApp accounts connected to global scams, particularly originating from Southeast Asia. These scams involved forced labor and sophisticated techniques like hijacking verified accounts and using fake investment groups. Meta's proactive measures and AI technologies helped detect and eliminate these scam accounts before they inflicted major damage.
