💨 Abstract

Midvaal, a municipality in Sedibeng, Gauteng, was named the best-performing municipality in the province at the 2025 Municipal Performance Awards. The recognition was based on governance, fiscal performance, and service delivery. Mayor Peter Teixeira credited the achievement to dedicated staff, rate-paying residents, and public representatives. Midvaal has maintained a clean audit for 11 consecutive years, one of only seven municipalities nationwide to do so.
