💨 Abstract
The City of Cape Town has approved over 400 new trading bays for hawkers in key areas. Nearly 800 new trading opportunities have been unlocked across the metro. Notably, Grand Parade will get 416 new bays, while other areas like Mamre, Elsies River, and Gatesville will also benefit. The plans aim to create better-regulated, inclusive, and economically viable trading spaces, improving infrastructure and permitting previously unpermitted hawkers.
