South African parents are urged to monitor their children's use of WhatsApp and other social media platforms following a court order to shut down channels sharing child pornography involving local schoolchildren. Digital law expert Emma Sadleir highlighted the dangers of WhatsApp, noting its anonymity and lack of accountability. She advised parents to check their children's accounts and follow digital hygiene rules. Meta must now shut down the offending channels and accounts.
