💨 Abstract

The South African passport has improved its ranking in the Henley & Partners Passport Index for 2025, moving up three spots from 51 to 48 out of 199 passports. While this enhances its status, South African passport holders can still travel visa-free to 103 destinations. The Henley Passport Index ranks passports based on visa-free travel using exclusive data from the International Air Transport Authority (IATA).
