💨 Abstract
A Cape Town prosecutor’s integrity led to the sentencing of a corrupt lawyer, Phuti Given Mothemane, after he attempted to bribe her with R50,000 to influence a fraud and corruption case. The Bellville Commercial Crimes Court handed him a nine-year sentence, with five years suspended on condition of good behavior. Mothemane will serve three years under correctional supervision, including house arrest and community service.
