💨 Abstract
Margaret Maritz, affectionately known as 'Grandma Hundred,' the oldest person in South Africa, has died at the age of 118. Born in 1906, she lived through world wars, apartheid, and the dawn of South African democracy. Her kindness and longevity earned her national affection. Living at the AFM Welfare Old Age Home, staff described her as a friendly, pleasant person who never complained.
