💨 Abstract

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) refuted social media rumors that most of its staff are foreign nationals. Only 7 out of 169 staff members and 1 out of 16 senior managers are foreign. The rumors surfaced after a media briefing on human rights in South Africa. The SAHRC emphasized its mandate to protect human rights for all, regardless of nationality, and highlighted its work on economic and social rights, as well as race-related complaints.
