💨 Abstract
South Africa will receive a R7 billion loan from the New Development Bank (NDB) to upgrade its roads. The South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) will use the funds for major freeway upgrades, working towards a total of R12.7 billion in road improvements. The loan is pending final legal and regulatory approvals but marks a significant step forward for infrastructure development, following the resolution of past funding obstacles related to the e-tolling system.
