💨 Abstract
In Soweto, roads around Maponya Mall are closed due to protests following the killing of an e-hailing driver and the burning of two other e-hailing vehicles. The incident is linked to tensions between taxi operators and e-hailing drivers. Police presence has been heightened as protesters block roads and demand action. Political leaders and the uMkhonto weSizwe Party have condemned the violence, citing common intimidation of e-hailing drivers by taxi operators.
