💨 Abstract

On Wednesday, a cold front brought light snow to the Eastern Cape mountains in South Africa, with freezing nights and alerts across several provinces. Scattered showers and thunderstorms occurred in Free State, Northern Cape, and Western Cape. Severe weather warnings were issued, including a yellow level 1 alert for high waves along the southern coast. Sutherland recorded a chilly -2°C overnight, with below-10°C temperatures elsewhere in the region.
