💨 Abstract

Zimbabwe plans to cull up to 50 elephants in the Save Valley Conservancy due to overpopulation, which threatens the local ecosystem. The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks) approved this measure, citing the conservancy's elephant population of 2,550, far exceeding its ecological limit of 800. Previously, about 200 elephants were relocated, but the population continued to rise.
