💨 Abstract

A South African court has ruled that authorities must take stronger action against "xenophobic" protests by the group Operation Dudula, which has been blocking undocumented foreigners from accessing healthcare. The High Court in Johannesburg ordered municipalities, the health department, and police to ensure safe access to clinics and hospitals for all individuals seeking healthcare services. The court criticized the state's response to these protests, which have disrupted healthcare for vulnerable populations, including pregnant women, children, and those with serious conditions.
