💨 Abstract

The South African women's rugby team, the Springbok Women, made history by reaching the quarter-finals of the 2025 Rugby World Cup but lost to defending champions New Zealand 46–17. Despite the defeat, the team showcased a strong, spirited performance, particularly in the first half where they held New Zealand to a 10-all draw. Captain Babalwa Latsha and Aphiwe Ngwevu scored tries in the first half.
