The Rugby Championship began with significant changes in the World Rugby rankings. The All Blacks, after defeating Argentina 41-24, strengthened their top position, gaining 0.45 ranking points. Conversely, the Springboks, following a 38-22 loss to Australia, dropped three ranking points and fell to third place. Australia, winning against South Africa, gained three ranking points but remained in sixth place.
