Mamelodi Sundowns have released nine players and signed one, Fawaaz Basadien. Outgoing players include Maboe, linked with Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. Coetzee, Suarez, Mbule, Ngobeni, Sibanyoni, and Tshabalala are also departures. Sundowns face competition from Chiefs, Pirates, and Sekhukhune United for Maboe.
