💨 Abstract

The City of Johannesburg launched the Smart City Innovation Challenge to improve the city's quality of life. This initiative, led by the Smart City Office and Wits University, encourages residents, municipal employees, and entrepreneurs to address urban challenges through innovation and collaboration. The program supports participants through workshops, mentoring, and funding, with 750 NGOs and projects selected for a boot camp.
