💨 Abstract

The eThekwini Municipality is exploring a new airport on KwaZulu-Natal’s South Coast to boost tourism and regional growth. City Manager Musa Mbhele announced the proposal, highlighting its potential to unlock economic opportunities. The old Durban International Airport, decommissioned in 2010, is now used for port expansion, making it unsuitable. The new airport’s location is undecided, with feasibility studies ongoing.
