💨 Abstract

South Africa has launched its new electronic travel authorisation (ETA) system, initially for G20 delegates from China, India, Indonesia, and Mexico entering via OR Tambo and Cape Town airports. The AI-powered system aims to process 85% of applications automatically within 24 hours, with biometric verification and real-time status updates. If successful, it will expand to all visa-requiring countries by 2026.
