💨 Abstract

Cape Town offers unique underground tours through its historic tunnels. These tunnels, dating back centuries, include former water canals and military fortifications from World War II, such as Fort Wynard in Greenpoint. The water canals, used during the Dutch settlement period, were later closed due to health concerns. Visitors can explore these tunnels with guided tours, but should ensure they follow safety measures and do thorough research beforehand.
