💨 Abstract
Starting in late 2026, travelers to most European countries will need to pay a €20 ETIAS travel authorization fee for short stays. This fee applies to visa-exempt non-EU travelers, but not to South Africans, who already require a Schengen visa. The authorization is valid for three years or until the passport expires. Exemptions include certain travelers, such as those under 18 or over 70.
