💨 Abstract
The Western Cape Provincial Government has reduced the speed limit from 80km/h to 60km/h on a section of the R44 in Betty’s Bay due to safety concerns. This change, requested by the community, aims to enhance safety on the commercial section known as “The Hub” and the entrance to the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens. While acknowledging the need for safety, officials emphasized that the new limit is the maximum legal speed, and drivers must remain vigilant.
