💨 Abstract

A 52-year-old woman was airlifted from Lion’s Head in Cape Town after a leg injury from a slip while hiking. Her daughter called emergency services, leading to a rapid response by Wilderness Search and Rescue and EMS. The woman was stabilized, hoisted into a helicopter, and taken to the hospital. WSAR highlighted the importance of preparedness and quick action in hiking emergencies. Lion’s Head is a popular but risky trail, with steep descents and variable weather.
