💨 Abstract

Tokai Manor House, a historic Cape-Dutch-style estate in Cape Town’s Tokai suburb, has a storied past marked by tragedy and decline. Built in 1795 by German surgeon Andreas Teubes, its lavish design led to financial ruin. Later owners, like Petrus Michiel Eksteen, faced misfortune, including a fatal accident during a New Year’s Eve party.
