💨 Abstract

London Underground workers are on a week-long strike from September 6-12, causing significant disruption to the city. The strike, led by RMT union members, demands better pay and working conditions. London Underground drivers earn around £68,096 annually (R1.62 million), potentially more with overtime, which is significantly higher than Metrorail drivers in South Africa. The strike is estimated to cost the economy £230 million, with alternative routes being strained.
