Marie, a 58-year-old mother of three, was trafficked to the UK and forced into sex work. Originally from Southern Africa, she was subjected to physical and psychological abuse, including being forced to have breast implants, for years by an upper-class exploiter. Marie's traumatic childhood made her vulnerable to exploitation. The number of modern slavery victims in the UK is estimated to be over 100,000.
