💨 Abstract
Marie Louis faces the impending release of her childhood abuser, Gordon Tidswell, after serving only half of his 22-year sentence. Tidswell, who abused multiple girls including Marie from the ages of 9 to 14, used manipulative tactics to keep her silent. Marie is distressed, believing Tidswell will reoffend if freed. She argues for keeping sex offenders indefinitely imprisoned, citing her lifelong struggle with depression and the insufficiency of current support systems.
