💨 Abstract

Pink mold, caused by the bacterium Serratia marcescens, affects 5,000 asthma cases and 8,500 respiratory infections in the UK. It thrives in warm, humid areas with poor insulation, like bathrooms, feeding on fats and minerals in soaps. To remove it, mix sodium bicarbonate, washing-up liquid, and water, scrub, then apply a bleach solution. Prevent its return by ensuring proper grout sealing and good ventilation.
