💨 Abstract
Seventeen-year-old Jordan Buta took his own life after falling victim to a sextortion scam on Instagram. Pretending to be a girl his age, scammers coaxed Jordan into sharing explicit photos, then blackmailed him for money. Despite having no history of depression, Jordan felt helpless and took his life just six hours later. His mother, Jennifer, is now advocating for awareness about sextortion, urging schools and parents to educate kids about this growing threat.
