đ¨ Abstract
A breathalyzer device for detecting gut cancers will be trialed in NHS hospitals starting April 2025. The device, which resembles a roadside alcohol test, will be tested on 8,000 people. It is less invasive and cheaper than other tests and results will be available in days. The government aims to save lives by catching cancers early, as most patients survive with early diagnosis.
