💨 Abstract

Rising temperatures are reducing global sleep duration, with an average loss of 44 hours per year over the past two decades. Warming trends, exacerbated by climate change, could increase this deficit to 50-58 hours annually by 2099. Heat affects sleep onset and duration, particularly during summer. Chronic sleep loss results in short-term fatigue and long-term health issues like weight gain, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.
