💨 Abstract
Rob McPherson, a 39-year-old from Manchester, initially dismissed his stomach pains, diarrhea, and nausea as a food intolerance. However, his symptoms worsened, leading to a diagnosis of bowel cancer after a 7cm tumor was discovered near his stomach. He underwent urgent surgery, followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Rob emphasized the importance of recognizing bowel cancer symptoms and seeking medical help early, as it is the fourth most common cancer in the UK and its rates among young people are rising.
