💨 Abstract

Cancer cases in the UK have increased by 48% since 1973, with 607 cases per 100,000 people annually. Despite this rise, survival rates have doubled, with 50% of patients now surviving 10 years or more. Early diagnosis remains a challenge, with nearly half of cases detected in later stages. Advances in treatment have significantly reduced the cancer death rate.
