💨 Abstract

Authorities have cautioned British travelers visiting the Salamanca region in Spain due to a case of Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF), a tick-borne virus. A 70-year-old man contracted the disease from a tick bite and is stable but severe. The virus can cause severe illness and be fatal in up to 40% of cases. British travelers are advised to take precautions to avoid tick bites, though the risk remains low.
