💨 Abstract
An anthrax outbreak in a Thai tourist region has claimed one life and hospitalised four others. The disease, caused by Bacillus anthracis, was likely contracted through infected cattle. The victim, a 53-year-old man from Mukdahan, died on April 30. Authorities are tracing the source, quarantining animals, and monitoring over 600 potentially exposed individuals. The WHO praised Thailand's response but warned of trade and tourism risks.
